New Year New Adventures?

If you're making new year's resolutions at all, we believe they should be positive and life enhancing rather than denying yourself anything. Our resolution is to keep exploring, learning and travelling and keep planning great adventures, big and small, for you (and us!) to enjoy.

Here are just a few of our plans this year, that we hope you'll enjoy and will maybe help inspire your own plans.

We'll be heading to Nepal of course - always a pleasure to visit. We'll have more news on some great new partnerships and experiences and fabulous places to stay to share with you very soon!

We're also excited about visiting Tibet this year.  Some of the team will be heading to Lhasa this Spring and from there, travelling overland across the Tibetan Plateau including visiting Everest Base Camp on the Tibet side,  before crossing the land border into Nepal. What a road trip! Now that Tibet has reopened for travel, we'll be adding new itineraries and details to our website in the next week. The rules for obtaining a visa and travel permit have recently changed which means it's not as easy or straightforward as it used to be, particularly for solo travellers or small groups (less than 5 people) but it is still possible and we believe it's very important, for many reasons, that travellers still consider visiting and exploring this beautiful land and culture.

We'll share more details in our next blog about the new requirements for visiting or feel free to contact us if you'd like information sooner. The best time to visit Tibet is from April to September with access via Nepal (for groups) or China for independent travellers.

We mentioned last year that the Bhutanese Government had reduced costs to visit Bhutan for last and this year and we're delighted to say that continues. Bhutan can be perceived as being expensive to visit, however with all activities and board included during your visit, costs can work out very reasonable, especially if you stay longer in the Kingdom as there are current incentives which reduce costs the longer you stay in Bhutan. So a great reason to enjoy some slow travel in Bhutan this year! Contact us for details.

Last but not least, we're also introducing new adventures in India this year too. In February, Maggie will be heading to Odisha in Eastern India. Perhaps India's best kept secret, this is one of the lesser known areas of India and great for anyone wanting to get off the beaten track. With a rich cultural heritage, stunning ancient temples and archaelogical monuments, beautiful beaches and amazing wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, we'll be bringing new itineraries and experiences in Odisha in February!
