Nepal may be a small Himalayan country, nestled between the
giant neighbouring countries of India and China, but it has a huge presence and
personality.
Home to eight of the ten highest peaks in the world
including Mount Everest and a stunningly diverse landscape, Nepal
is well known for fantastic treks and climbing expeditions. Some of the best trekking in the world includes the ever-popular Everest Base Camp trek and Annapurna
Circuit trek as well as plenty of other great options from short easy treks to
off the beaten path more remote and challenging trekking routes such as Upper
Dolpo. It’s also one of the best places in the world for climbing expeditions
with popular 6000+m peaks such as Island Peak and Mera Peak as well as other
major peaks including of course Everest.
The landscape is rich and varied from the mighty snow-capped
peaks of the Himalayas to lush lowlands, deep valleys, alpine and mixed
forests, terraced farmland and high and remote places. In the south are the
subtropical lowlands and jungle areas, home to Chitwan National Park, a popular
place to visit on wildlife safaris, as is Bardia National Park.
There's plenty for non-trekkers too, including wonderful
cultural tours, fantastic wildlife safaris or simply relaxing at a luxury
hideaway or spa. High adrenaline activities include white water rafting, mountain biking, zip
lines, paragliding and much more!
Kathmandu and the surrounding Valley is home to ancient
monuments, temples and beautiful World Heritage Sites alongside great shopping,
great places to eat and drink and a wide range of accommodation option
including luxury and boutique properties.
With friendly and welcoming people and over 100 ethnic
groups with their diverse and vibrant cultures, there's always so much to see and
experience when you visit Nepal.
